Phantom
Troublemaker, Beth, and Chad J. Shonk discuss Marvel’s Merry
Mutants – the X-Men!
Over the years the corner of the Marvel Universe that was not occupied by the Avengers has been a place of almost constant change. Evolution, one might say. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby started the adventures of the original team of outcast teenagers back in 1963 and the moniker “X-Men” has included many different teams and characters since then.
The
popularity of the mutants was such that Hollywood made them one of
the first success stories of the comic book movie boom. We’ve been
getting movies with “X” in the title since 200, with wildly
varying degrees of quality but almost universal success. The newest
entry – X-Men:
Apocalypse
– comes out today and looks to be one of the most divisive entries
so far!
Listen
in as Beth, Chad, and Phantom discuss the evolution of their
individual X-Men fandom and the success – or lack thereof – of
the various movie adaptations!
