In
my ongoing quest to provide you, the Phantomaniacs, with the most
in-depth and exciting coverage of Dragon Con and Dragon Con
Wrestling, I have come across more than a few larger-than-life
personalities. Some are well known to me and some have come from that
mystical federation of legend called Anarchy Wrestling.
Today’s
Q&A comes from an Anarchy guy that has worked a couple of DCW
shows now and definitely has his own style. CB
Suavé has performed under the Hooligans-appointed pseudonyms of
Danny Drummond in 2011
and Vin Weasel in 2012.
He is the seminal DCW curtain-jerker, but at least he doesn’t get
pinned every year like Muffin Top.
This
year, CB promises an all-new gimmick – the real him – and a
memorable and triumphant night of Dragon Con Wrestling.
1)
What was your very first match as a pro wrestler?
A)
First match...was
July 4th,
2009 in Auburn, GA against Latino Kid. I thought my stomach was gonna
come through my mouth! Ha ha!
2)
What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?
A)
I had a lot of
TMNT toys and of course wrestling action figures. BUT I was more of
an outside/athletic kid.
3)
What is one album everybody should own?
A)
Albums! ? They
still make those? Kidding! If I had to pick one I would go a lil’
old school and say The Chronic(Snoop Dogg/Dr. Dre) I usually
buy mixtapes or jam out to PANDORA!
4)
How did you become involved with DCW?
A)
I was training
with Slim J at our home promotion (ANARCHY) and still do every week.
Anyway, he mentioned Dragon*con and I had no clue what it was and
asked to be involved and he's said yeah sure. You can be in the
rumble at the end of the show. And of course I was game.
5)
Can you tell me about your first DCW experience?
A)
As I mentioned
earlier I was supposed to be in the rumble at the end of the show,
but some guys couldn't make it and I was asked to work the first
match! There go the my nerves! A fatal 4-way to kick of the show and
I'm looking at all the empty seats before the doors open for the show
and I'm like holy s#@t! The room seats close to 1700 people. It’s
the biggest crowd I'd ever seen in my career at the time… well
actually still is... I know we’re out there to have fun and put on
a show but I'm taking it as a huge deal considering the crowd. The
match was AWESOME. The crowd was AWESOME. When the match was
over I didn't want to go to the back, I was on cloud nine! Dragon*Con
is by far my favorite show of the year to do – it’s only once a
year and the atmosphere is like no other!
6)
What is your DCW dream match?
A)
Favorite dream
match... hmmmmmm... I got a few but my dream match would be a singles
Ladder match with one of these guys - Slim J, Anthony Henry, Shaun
Tempers, Ethan Case - there are a few more, but those guys came to
mind first.
7)
What is your favorite piece of gear you’ve ever owned?
A)
All of them!
Simply because my grandma make ALL of my gear and that's special to
me. They keep getting better and better..this year my gear will be a
lil Macho Man inspired and the first time Dragon*Con will be
introduced to the real
CB Suavé (the past two years I've dressed up for the show).
8)
How does a DCW match differ from other matches?
A)
A Dragon*con
match to me is a lil’ different than others. Some may say it’s
just another match but for me it’s once a year and the fans are so
into it and easy to interact with. I don’t know if there are any
real words to express the feeling… you'd have to experience it
first hand to understand what I mean.
9)
Which actor do you feel like you could sit and watch for hours no
matter what they were doing and why?
A)
Me of course.
I've been in two movies with face time, thank you! Ha ha. But I'm on
the Z list if there was one. Ha ha ha!
I'd say Will Smith or Terrance Howard. .they're both great in all genres. Their work speaks for itself!
I'd say Will Smith or Terrance Howard. .they're both great in all genres. Their work speaks for itself!
10)
What inspires you to do what you do?
A)
My passion for
the wrestling business. My strive to be the best and be the best
match on the card of every show I’m on. Also the fans and my
ultimate goal to be a Hall of Famer and to be remembered as one of
the best in the business.
11)
What is your big nerd passion?
A)
I'd have to say
online racing. Mainly on iracing.com
and my Sci-Fi movie addiction..Star Wars is my
FAAAVVVOORRIITTTEEEE!!!!
12)
Is there a movie that should never be remade and if so which one?
A)
They remake
everything nowadays! Some good, some bad. I was in a remake (the
Steel Magnolias remake) I don’t know - I'm kinda indecisive on this
one.
13)
Closer – can you cut a promo for the DCW crowd?
A)
Listen
up GEEK-CUADS!! What you’re gonna see on Aug. 30 is the debut of
the most handsome man on the planet in CB Suavé!! When the ladies
see me they’re gonna want to come back to my
hotel room instead of that fat, stinking, dickey-doo slob they came
in with. I'm the best around and the sooner you realize that... the
sooner you'll realize why.... you... LOVE TO HATE ME & HATE TO
LOVE ME!!!!!
This is it, people.
Unless I receive a last-minute post from some tail-gunning,
lollygagging DCW wrestler that’s just too good to not post, this is
the last DCW-related post before the BIG NIGHT.
Dragon Con Wrestling is
this Friday, August 30th
at 7 PM in the Hyatt Centennial Ballrooms I-III and I can personally
guarantee that if you attend this battle bowl of blood and bestiality
your views on Our Great Sport will never, eeeeeeever,
be the same… again.
