Dragon*Con Week: 13 Questions With DCW's Chip Motherfucking Day

Hometown: Kennesaw, GA
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 169 lbs.
Favorite Moves: 360 degree kick, “Motion Sickness”-Flipping side Power bomb
Finishing Move: “Day of the Dead”-Flying double knee attack

From his earliest days, Chip Day wanted nothing more than to be a professional wrestler. Growing up in a single parent house, day’s mother was responsible for his love of wrestling. Attending his first local show at age 8, Day was hooked. Day received his training from such Georgia stars as Georgia Tag Team Blackout, International star Jimmy Rave, and several other Georgia Indy greats. The Kennesaw native started competing regularly at age 16 and hasn’t “looked back”.

Day reportedly takes in as much wrestling as he can. Watching and studying tapes of Ricky Steamboat from the NWA to tapes of Dragon Gate’s Dragon Kid. The young star truly takes everything and tries to learn new things all the time. A futuristic blend of traditional Southern boy, high flying Lucha Libre, European catch wrestling, and hard hitting Japanese Puroresu, Day really is something else from bell to bell.

It's no secret that the DCW Hooligans have chosen "Do or Die" Chip Day as our mascot wrestler. He was the first guy we "honored" with a nickname and he was the first carryover from Dragon*Con Wrestling to Platinum Championship Wrestling.

Chip Day is a high-flying, ass kicking dynamo that is exciting to watch every time he steps into the ring. The Hooligans have watched Chip in the ring, had beers with the guy; heck – he even took my suggestion for naming one of his moves. A crossface variation he now calls the Darkest Day. I am a genius.

1 - What was your very first match as a pro wrestler?
A) Myself vs Cody Aarons (I was only 13.)

2 - What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?
A) Tough call.. Probably my Green Ranger action figure.

3 - What is one album everybody should own?
A) "Homesick" by A Day To Remember

4 - How did you become involved with DCW?
A) I got a call from my trainer asking if I wanted to work on DragonCon. Being a horror/sci-fi fan I jumped at the opportunity. And I still love it to this day.

5 - Can you tell me about your first DCW experience, or if you haven’t worked it yet what you’ve heard?
A) It was awesome! It was in 2007 I think. I wrestled Slim J and Adrian Hawkins. The crowd response was awesome.

6 - What is your DCW dream match?
A) Myself vs Slim J.

7 - What is your favorite piece of gear you’ve ever owned?
A) My kickpads. They help a lot.

8 - How does a DCW match differ from other matches? Or does it?
A) The energy from the crowd is a bit different than other shows to say the least.

9 - Which actor do you feel like you could sit and watch for hours no matter what they were doing and why?
A) I'm a Johnny Depp fan. I'll admit that.

10 - What inspires you to do what you do?
A) I love entertaining people. I'm a show off.

11 - What is your big nerd passion?
A) Wrestling. And superheroes.

12 - Is there a movie that should never be remade and if so which one?
A) Yes. Tropic Thunder, Anchorman and SemiPro.

13 - Closer – can you cut a promo for the DCW crowd?
A) You don't want me to talk, do you? What? You want me to kick someone really hard? It’s coming on Friday.

It may not be a win for Chip, but it's a damn good match. Plus, it features Fancy Booty for Lori.

Guys – if you're not convinced by now you must just be as dumb as a goat. Come out to Dragon*Con Wrestling THIS Friday night in the Hyatt Centennial Ballroom and see Chip Motherfucking Day kick somebody in their stupid face.

That’s it for today. Come back tomorrow when I have SIX huge Dragon*Con Week posts. I have got so much content this year it’s fucking ridiculous.
